The University Mons-Hainaut has requested Dominique Kaesmacher, Chief IP Attorney, to give a lecture next February 29 on different aspects of the R&D and Intellectual Property to students in Management, Industrial engineer and Civil engineer in the framework of their Master Programme.

AWEX organises on February 26 in Mons a lecture in the framework of the Business Club Chine. Dominique Kaesmacher, Chief IP Attorney, has been requested to answer the question “How to protect my products and services against copy”.

Ms Dominique Kaesmacher, Dr Marco T. Connor, and Mr Lin Yasong were invited by the Brussels Institute of Contemporary China Studies (BICCS) of the VUB to give a series of lectures on intellectual property in China within the frame of a post graduate course in Economics. Representatives of Belgian Companies, invited by the Belgian and Chinese Chamber of Commerce, were also present among the public. Kirkpatrick is always proud to actively participate at such initiatives building a bridge between universities and companies in Belgium.

We have the pleasure to announce that Mr LIN Yasong, Barrister in China, Dr Marco Connor, Head of Patent Practice with Kirkpatrick, and Ms Dominique Kaesmacher, Chief IP Attorney and Head of Legal Department with Kirkpatrick, will give a series of lectures on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in China at the Brussels Institute of Contemporary China Studies (BICCS) at the VUB on Tuesday, February 5, 2008. The series of lectures covers :

• a general introduction to Intellectual Property (copyright, Trademarks, patents),
• a review of the proceedings to acquire these rights in China, and
• the administrative and judicial tools available in China and Europe to defend IPR against counterfeiters.
